This piece is interactive: The pulley lifts the prosthetic leg via steel cable attached to the crank, mounted on the vertical support. Inspired by my work as a nurse on an orthopedic unit, this piece operates as an anti-heroic metaphor; the movement is limited to a vertical fall.
Materials: forged and fabricated steel, handmade pulley and steel cable, found hardware, cast iron parts from foundry pattern. The steel base structure is hidden in the wooden base. The crank is assembled from cast iron and found hardware.
